Hello fellow paper crafters :)  I know it has been a long time since I last posted.  Sometimes life gets in the way doesn't it?

Boho Flowers Mini Kit from Gina K. Designs

Since we last spoke I travelled around South America for three weeks, got home on a Friday, closed on my old house the following Monday, and moved to my new house two weeks later.  Then there was the inevitable unpacking and organizing my new crafting/class space in my new home and a three week trip to Wisconsin to make some cards with Gina from Gina K Designs and some other Stamp Junkies at Village paper and Ink, and Minnesota to spend some time with my dear mom and sister.  Now it is time to stay put for a while and get back to doing what I love :)

When in Wisconsin for the Stamp Junkie Fest I was showered with gifts from quite a few companies -- Gina K Designs, Brutus Monroe, Pretty Pink Posh, Thermoweb and more.  I have to say though that one of my favorite gifts was this beautiful mini card kit from Gina K. Designs.

It inspired me to make the pretty birthday card pictured above because as we all know we can never have enough birthday cards.  In addition August is my birthday month so I feel like celebrating all month long :)

Layers:

• 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" 100lb white cover card base folded in half 
• 3 3/4" x 5" 100lb white cover card for stamping
• 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" 100lb black card stock for mat
• 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" or scrap 100lb white card stock "you" stamping and die cut

Directions:

1. Use the two flower dies to cut masks out of Inkadinkado masking paper or Post It Notes.
2. Stamp three of the large flowers in Passionate Pink around the white stamping layer.
3. Mask one of the flowers and add two leaves from the Grass Green stamping slightly over the mask so as to give the illusion that the leaf is coming out from underneath the flower and a small flower in Blue Lagoon.  Mask the blue flower as well and add some leaves as you did with the pink flower.
4. Repeat step 3 for each pink flower.
5. Using Versafine Onyx Black Ink stamp 3 of the "leafy swirls" around the flower clusters.
6. Stamp the desired sentiment on the card that.
7. I created the "You" embellishment by stamping one of the words "You" which is included in the kit and then cutting out 3 additional die cuts of the matching die as well as the stamped piece.  I glued and layered them on top of each other to add dimension and then attached it to the card.
8. Adhere the stamped piece centered over the black mat and then attach it to the front of your card base.
9. I added some detail to the center of the flowers with the Nuvo Crystal Jewel Drops in Ebony Black.
