Simon Says Stamp August 2018 - Mandy's Flowers Part 4 of 5

Part 4 is up on YouTube today...Be sure to check out the video and comment to enter the Perky Penny Papers August 2018 Cardapalooza......Click here for details.   Card recipes and a supply list are included below the video link.

Papers:

110 lb White Card Stock
  • 1 - hotizontal side folding A2 card base
  • 1 - A2 panel

Patterned Paper:

  • An assortment of coordinating papers measuring 1 3/4" to 2" x  4"

Media:

  • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list

Directions:

  1. Cut  patterned paper pieces diagonally to create 2 triangles.
  2. Mark the center on the 5 1/2" side of an A2 card stock panel.
  3. Apply triangles placing the point at the center mark.  You can use any kind of adhesive you like.
  4. Die cut with oval die when all spaces are filled in.
  5. The border triangle was one of my left over triangles I had cut from a 6 inch strip I had left over from another project.   I lined that with a gold strip in between to add some shine and then added my oval sun burst.
  6. Take the thank you sentiment and stamp and heat emboss in gold on the pink paper.  Die cut it and a piece of gold mirror paper with the matching die.
  7.  Attach 2 sentiment die cuts with foam tape and pop up on front of card.

    Papers:

    110 lb White Card Stock
    • 1 - horizontal top folding A2 card base
    • 1 - A2 panel
    Patterned Paper:
    • strips of patterned paper 1/4" and 1/2" wide.  GREAT FOR SCRAP PAPER!

    Media:

    • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list

    Directions:

    1. Run your A2 panel through a Xyron or cover with adhesive,  or cover the strips with adhesive before placing them.  Take your A2 card panel and 3 strips of the same paper strips and position one across the shorter side of the card towards the center.  Then take the other 2 strips and place them on either side of the center strip so they intersect with it.  Next take 4 strips of the another paper and line them up along side the strips just placed and repeat the process until all space is filled.  Any extra strips can be set aside for future cards.  To finish the panel trim all the edges to create an A2 sized panel.
    2. Using the picture above cut the panel at the left side of the first strip that was placed.
    3. Take the right half and line it up on the right side of the card base and trace a line along the diagonal edge of the card.
    4. Cut the left side of the card front off and then glue the left side of the herringbone panel in the empty space.
    5. Fold the flap in half to create an easel fold and adhere the right side of the herringbone panel to the bottom half of the flap.
    6. Attach your flower arrangement in the center and then create a sentiment for inside the card and pop it up on foam tape to create a place for your easel to rest.

      Papers:

      110 lb White Card Stock
      • 1 - 6" square card base

      Patterned/Colored Paper:

      • 6" square of patterned paper
      • A2 panel of pink paper
      • 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" gold mirror paper
      • 5 1/8" x  3 7/8" shaving cream pattern or other patterned paper

      Media:

      • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list

      Directions:

      1. Adhere 6 inch patterned panel to 6 inch card base.
      2. Assemble framed piece gluing each of them on top of the larger piece and then place a piece of foam between this framed creation and the 6 inch card base.
      3. Stamp sentiment.
      4. Add copic colored floral arrangement.

Welcome to Part 3...Be sure to check out the video and comment to enter the Perky Penny Papers August 2018 Cardapalooza......Click here for details.   Card recipes and a supply list are included below the video link.

      Papers:

      110 lb White Card Stock
      • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
      • 1 - A2 panel

      Media:

      • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list

      Directions:

      1. Stamp image in center and mask.
      2. Stamp sentiment over the entire front of the card.
      3. Cut My Favorite Things Scalloped Stitched Frame from patterned paper and color with Copic marker so it matches the flowers.
      4. Attach frame to panel.and card base.

      Papers:

      110 lb White Card Stock
      • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
      • 1 - A2 panel

      Media:

      • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list

      Directions:

      1. Mask off the panel so  a little over 1" from the bottom of the card is exposed and stamp the fence with the pointy side down and off the paper so that the vertical slats frame out the area.  I stamped twice to get this look.  If you remove the mask and the upper line is missing simply draw in with a ruler and black ballpoint pen.
      2. Flip the paper over and stamp the fence with the pointy sides towards the middle of the card.  Line the bottom of the bottom vertical slat up with the top of the panel.
      3. Use a ballpoint pen and ruler to draw in some poles for your flower stand.
      4. Stamp floral image.
      5. Color the image and find a fun sentiment die cut to finish off your card.
      6. Attach panel to card base.

      Papers:

      110 lb White Card Stock
      • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
      • 1 - A2 panel

      Media:

      • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
      • Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink

      Directions:

      1. Stamp the center image and mask.
      2. Stamp the other images and the sentiment on the bottom.
      3. Draw a line up to the image on both sides as shown in the picture above.
      4. Take a stencil and attach it to the panel front, lining up the bottom of the stencil area with the line on the panel.
      5. Stencil the area with your chosen medium.  I used Distress Oxide Warm Lipstick ink and a Nuvo Blending Sponge.  Remove stencil
      6. Color the rest of the images with Copic markers.
      7. Attach panel to card base.

      Papers:

      110 lb White Card Stock
      • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
      • 1 - A2 panel

      Media:

      • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
      • Broken China Distress Oxide Ink

Directions (these are slightly varied from the video as I think this would be easier to get the alignment correct with little effort):

      1. Stamp and mask the floral images on the left and right at the bottom of the card.
      2. Take the wreath stamp and position it in the Misti so the flowers are on top and it will stamp about 1/4" from the top of the card panel.
      3. Place a small piece of purple tape on either side of the wreath right under where the lines start to curve.  The idea is you want a straight line to extend.  Stamp the image.
      4. Take a ruler and ballpoint pen and extend the lines to the bottom of the panel to create and arch.
      5. Stamp the fence in the center overlapping the flowers and centered between your 2 "poles".  Remove mask.
      6. Make sure that the "pole" lines are continued through the floral image and the vertical slat lines meet up with the side of the arch using your ballpoint pen.
      7. Color the images only with Copic markers and mask off.  It is ok to not mask off the dark green and the arch.  We will just steer clear of these as best as possible while creating our background.
      8. Take Broken China Distress Oxide ink and a stencil brush(mine is by Clarity) to create a "sky" background.  Be sure to use a light hand especially over the fence and arch.   Our goal is the "suggestion" of a sky.  You want it light and whispy :)
      9. Stamp the For You sentiment in the center of the arch.
      10. I trimmed the panel down 1/8" of an inch to create a small border and then rounded the top corners of the panel as well as the card base.
      11. Attach the panel to the card base.

        Card Recipes:

        Papers:

        110 lb White Card Stock
        • 1 - 6" square card base
        • scraps to stamp flowers on and for sentiment
         Black Card Stock
        • scraps for twigs from Altenews's Create-A-Wreath die set
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
        • 1 - 6" x 2 1/2" strip of patterned paper
        • 1 - 6" x 3/4" strip of patterned paper.
        • 1 - strip of the navy blue stripe section of the paper as shown in picture.

        Media:

        • copic marker colors as listed in the supply list

        Directions:

        1. Color flowers as desired and if you don't have the dies yet fussy cut the flower pots, feel free to cut off the uncolored twiggy bits.  We will replace them on another step.
        2. Take the large piece of patterned paper and score, fold, and crease at 1/2" from each of the long sides.
        3. Use adhesive on the 1/2" segment next to the valley fold and attach, lining it up with the folded edge of the card base.  This creates an adorable awning.
        4. Put foam tape on the back of the 3/4" strip and adhere to the bottom of the front of the card.
        5. Attach skinny strip to create a finished edge to your store front.
        6. Use foam squares to attach flowers to the front of the card.
        7. Attach some of the die cut branches behind the flowers.  If you don't have the die you can cut thin strips that will serve the same purpose.
        8.  On a thin piece of scrap paper stamp one on the small sentiments in black ink and if you like color it with one of the coordinating copic colors.

        Papers:

        110 lb White Card Stock
        • 1 - horizontal top folding A2 card base
        • scraps to stamp flowers on and for sentiment
         Black Card Stock
        • scraps for twigs
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
        • 1 - 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip of patterned paper with butterflies for this example.  Alternatively another patterned paper that has objects and a simple white background.
        • 2 - 5 1/2"" x 3/4" strip of patterned paper that coordinates with the larger piece
        • 1 - strip of the navy blue stripe section of the paper as shown in picture
        • 2  - coordinating papers cut into tags or rectangles. Approximate sizes 1 3/4" x 2 1/2"

        Media:

        • copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
        • Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy ink pad as listed on the supply list

        Directions:

        1. Color flowers as desired and if you don't have the dies yet fussy cut the flower pots, feel free to cut off the uncolored twiggy bits.  We will replace them on another step.
        2. Take the large patterned paper panel and secure it to the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil.  I use Thermoweb Purple tape but you can use washi tape, post it notes, or painters tape as well.  Just be careful that they are low tac so they don't ruin your card stock when removing.
        3. Use a sponge dauber and the Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy ink and very lightly cover the front of the paper with ink.  This affect is meant to be subtle.  I love it to unify the pattern and make it less busy.
        4. Attach the (2) 3/4" patterned strips to the top an the bottom of the card front with tape runner and then place the stenciled piece over that also with tape runner.  The dimension will be in the front scene.
        5.  Follow the picture above to place the tags, flowers, and sentiment.  I popped up the lowest tag, then used tape runner for the one above.  I then popped the flowers up a little higher by doubling up the foam tape.
        6. Don't forget to add a few twigs behind the flowers for some awesome dimension.
        7. Create a small bow with some coordinating bakers twine and place it on the top tag.
        8. Stamp a sentiment on some white scrap paper and create a tiny banner that you can tuck behind the flower pot.

        Papers:

        110 lb White Card Stock
        • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
        • 4 - 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" for MFT Oval Stitched Frames
        Green Card Stock
        • 1 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
        • 1 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

        Media:

        • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
        • embossing powder as listed on the supply list

        Directions:

        1. Use the 2nd largest die from the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle set to cut out the green card stock and use tape runner to center and attach on card base.
        2. Use the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle set to cut out the patterned paper and again use tape runner to center and attach over green scalloped paper.
        3. Take the 4 small white card stock and cut the smallest die from the MFT Oval Stitched Frames out of each one.
        4. Use Nuvo Deluxe Liquid Adhesive to attach all 4 of the frames together.
        5. Color the top and inside and outside of the frame with the R11 copic marker.
        6. Use liquid adhesive to attach the finished frame embellishment to the front of the card.
        7. Take one of the inside ovals and stamp and heat emboss a sentiment on it with the Rose Gold embossing powder from Lawn Fawn.
        8. Attach the sentiment inside the frame using tape runner.
