Card Recipes:

Papers:

110 lb White Card Stock
  • 1 - 6" square card base
  • scraps to stamp flowers on and for sentiment
 Black Card Stock
  • scraps for twigs from Altenews's Create-A-Wreath die set
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
  • 1 - 6" x 2 1/2" strip of patterned paper
  • 1 - 6" x 3/4" strip of patterned paper.
  • 1 - strip of the navy blue stripe section of the paper as shown in picture.

Media:

  • copic marker colors as listed in the supply list

Directions:

  1. Color flowers as desired and if you don't have the dies yet fussy cut the flower pots, feel free to cut off the uncolored twiggy bits.  We will replace them on another step.
  2. Take the large piece of patterned paper and score, fold, and crease at 1/2" from each of the long sides.
  3. Use adhesive on the 1/2" segment next to the valley fold and attach, lining it up with the folded edge of the card base.  This creates an adorable awning.
  4. Put foam tape on the back of the 3/4" strip and adhere to the bottom of the front of the card.
  5. Attach skinny strip to create a finished edge to your store front.
  6. Use foam squares to attach flowers to the front of the card.
  7. Attach some of the die cut branches behind the flowers.  If you don't have the die you can cut thin strips that will serve the same purpose.
  8.  On a thin piece of scrap paper stamp one on the small sentiments in black ink and if you like color it with one of the coordinating copic colors.

Papers:

110 lb White Card Stock
  • 1 - horizontal top folding A2 card base
  • scraps to stamp flowers on and for sentiment
 Black Card Stock
  • scraps for twigs
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
  • 1 - 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" strip of patterned paper with butterflies for this example.  Alternatively another patterned paper that has objects and a simple white background.
  • 2 - 5 1/2"" x 3/4" strip of patterned paper that coordinates with the larger piece
  • 1 - strip of the navy blue stripe section of the paper as shown in picture
  • 2  - coordinating papers cut into tags or rectangles. Approximate sizes 1 3/4" x 2 1/2"

Media:

  • copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
  • Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy ink pad as listed on the supply list

Directions:

  1. Color flowers as desired and if you don't have the dies yet fussy cut the flower pots, feel free to cut off the uncolored twiggy bits.  We will replace them on another step.
  2. Take the large patterned paper panel and secure it to the Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil.  I use Thermoweb Purple tape but you can use washi tape, post it notes, or painters tape as well.  Just be careful that they are low tac so they don't ruin your card stock when removing.
  3. Use a sponge dauber and the Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy ink and very lightly cover the front of the paper with ink.  This affect is meant to be subtle.  I love it to unify the pattern and make it less busy.
  4. Attach the (2) 3/4" patterned strips to the top an the bottom of the card front with tape runner and then place the stenciled piece over that also with tape runner.  The dimension will be in the front scene.
  5.  Follow the picture above to place the tags, flowers, and sentiment.  I popped up the lowest tag, then used tape runner for the one above.  I then popped the flowers up a little higher by doubling up the foam tape.
  6. Don't forget to add a few twigs behind the flowers for some awesome dimension.
  7. Create a small bow with some coordinating bakers twine and place it on the top tag.
  8. Stamp a sentiment on some white scrap paper and create a tiny banner that you can tuck behind the flower pot.

Papers:

110 lb White Card Stock
  • 1 - vertical top folding A2 card base
  • 4 - 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" for MFT Oval Stitched Frames
Green Card Stock
  • 1 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Early Bird Pattern Paper (Bo Bunny)
  • 1 - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Media:

  • Copic marker colors as listed on the supply list
  • embossing powder as listed on the supply list

Directions:

  1. Use the 2nd largest die from the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle set to cut out the green card stock and use tape runner to center and attach on card base.
  2. Use the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle set to cut out the patterned paper and again use tape runner to center and attach over green scalloped paper.
  3. Take the 4 small white card stock and cut the smallest die from the MFT Oval Stitched Frames out of each one.
  4. Use Nuvo Deluxe Liquid Adhesive to attach all 4 of the frames together.
  5. Color the top and inside and outside of the frame with the R11 copic marker.
  6. Use liquid adhesive to attach the finished frame embellishment to the front of the card.
  7. Take one of the inside ovals and stamp and heat emboss a sentiment on it with the Rose Gold embossing powder from Lawn Fawn.
  8. Attach the sentiment inside the frame using tape runner.

  1. I like watching your videos but the fast motion makes me dizzy. Maybe you could go a little slower. Thank you

    1. I will do my best. It is a challenge to know what to speed through and what to cut out and what to just leave. Most of the time I start with 2 hours of video. I don't think people will watch for 2 hours :) I know I couldn't talk about it for that long (although my family would probably disagree). If you don't mind give me some feedback on what you think you didn't need to see in the video that I could possibly cut out to allow me to slow down the video :) It would be much appreciated.
